Mr Emms is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon who specialises in hip and knee surgery.

Mr Emms specialist field is Hip and knee replacement surgery.

He also undertakes keyhole surgery on the knee for all conditions including torn cartilage and sports injury. During his training he spent 18 months in Sheffield as the “Cavendish Hip Fellow”. During this time he worked at the Northern General Hospital in one of Europe’s leading lower limb units.

He now leads the hip and knee replacement unit in St Helens and Knowsley Teaching Hospitals. He is lead surgeon for infection control. He has an ongoing research interest and has been involved in numerous projects through his career presenting at local, national and international levels. He has numerous publications in the field of lower limb surgery.
