Mummy MOT (Post Natal Physiotherapy)

The Mummy MOT is an in-depth postnatal assessment that assesses the strength and function of the abdominal and pelvic floor muscles following childbirth.

Most women experience muscle weakness of the abdominals and pelvic floor after pregnancy and delivery, even after a caesarean section.

As a result, many women go on to develop poor posture, pelvic organ prolapse, back and pelvic pain, altered bladder and bowel control and even sexual problems and these can persist if they are left untreated. These conditions, however, aren’t an inevitability of childbirth or something you have to live with forever.

Juggling a new baby/child and trying to get your body and fitness back is challenging. You may have lots of questions relating to recovery and what you are physically able to do; plus doing the wrong types of exercise can lead to more harm than good.

Who is the Mummy MOT suitable for?
