Weight Management

Russell Hoyles offers an initial consultation, which allows you the opportunity to evaluate and consider if the programme feels right for you.

What is Included

This approach to weight management has an emphasis on understanding the reasons why an individual may struggle with weight, and the emotional and psychological aspects that drive behaviours that are unwanted and ultimately unhealthy. Understanding is a key element in positioning and empowering a person to making positive change. Once understanding is achieved Mr Hoyles and you then together look at therapies that in isolation or for some in combination, can enable change to happen. These approaches will include elements of something called Mind Management which is looks at the ‘primitive mind’ and how that impacts, elements of CBT that addresses the relationship between emotions and thoughts, and elements of counselling looking at historical aspects that may be relevant. For some clients using some hypnotherapy techniques, including the hypnotic gastric band, prove useful.

As you can see  this is a complex area and in terms of suitability all that is required is a will to grasp and understand the concepts, and to then apply the identified and related therapeutic strategies.

Mr Hoyles also suggests that weight management issues rarely present in isolation and clients embarking on a programme often find themselves addressing other aspects and areas of their lives.

The programme  will consist of six face to face sessions. In the first of these six sessions is where you will be presented with the concepts and options and arrive at a ‘formulation’ with Mr Hoyles of the way forward. If a client decides that this approach is not for them then there is no charge. This is a policy of Mr Hoyles across the board so potential clients feel no obligation when arriving at their first session. Once the decision to go ahead is made  support is offered throughout a typical programme period of three to four months by way of telephone or video discussions, and email. This support complements the face to face contact and is at no extra charge.
