Personal Profile
Mr Satish Dhotare is a highly experienced Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with years of consultant-level expertise in both elective and trauma orthopaedics. He specialises in hip and knee surgery, with a strong focus on joint replacement and complex reconstruction.
Mr Dhotare completed his Undergraduate training (MBBS) in India and postgraduate orthopaedic training in India as well as UK, where he achieved Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS Tr & Orth). He currently holds a substantive consultant post at Whiston Hospital and has completed the prestigious Wrightington Fellowship in hip and knee arthroplasty.
His clinical outcomes are consistently aligned with national benchmarks, as reflected in National Joint Registry (NJR) and hospital episode data. He is committed to evidence-based practice and modern surgical techniques to optimise recovery and patient outcomes.
Mr Dhotare is the Fracture Neck of Femur Lead at Whiston Hospital, where he has led quality improvement initiatives that have enhanced care delivery and performance. He is also a passionate educator, serving as a clinical supervisor for specialty trainees and MCh candidates, and regularly contributes to FRCS preparatory courses and university assessments.
He is actively involved in research and has authored peer-reviewed publications, presented at international conferences, and contributed to national guideline development through the British Hip Society.
Mr Dhotare has authored several peer-reviewed publications and contributed a book chapter on Revision Total Hip Replacement. He was awarded the Jacques Duparc Best Poster Award at the EFORT Congress in Geneva and has played a key role in developing the British Hip Society guidelines on prioritisation in hip surgery.
Mr Dhotare is known for his compassionate approach and clear communication, ensuring patients are well-informed and confident throughout their treatment journey. He values collaboration, continuous professional development, and delivering high-quality, patient-centred care.
Outside of his professional commitments, he enjoys spending time with his family, cooking, and travelling.
