Our facilities in details

We have ten outpatient consulting rooms where consultants can meet patients, discuss their symptoms and propose a course of treatment.  They may also undertake minor procedures in the consultation rooms.

We have a ground floor treatment and diagnosis room where you can be assessed before a visit to theatre or you may receive a minor treatment from a consultant or one of our nurses as part of our nurse led services.

The Hospital’s CO2 laser is also located on the ground floor and is used in the treatment of a variety of skin problems including basal cell carcinomas, rhinophyma and xanthelasma.

On the ground floor, we have two imaging rooms where we can undertake x-ray imaging, ultrasounds and mammography. During the week these facilities are supplemented by visiting CT and MRI scanners.  All patient images are stored and provided to consultants for diagnosis on our digital imaging system which can share images across the Hospital.  With patient consent, we can also access images taken at other hospitals as this reduces the number of times patients are scanned.

We also have a physiotherapy treatment room and fully equipped gymnasium offering the specialist physiotherapy treatments including shock wave treatment.

On the first floor of the Hospital, we have two operating theatres.  Theatre One is the largest and has an ultra-clean ventilation system which reduces the chances of wound infection during hip, knee and other major orthopaedic surgery.

Theatre Two is used for a range of surgery and also benefits from a range of recent investment, including new theatre lights, cleaning systems and a new operating theatre table.

We also have a minor procedures treatment facility on the first floor. This is used for laser varicose vein surgery.

The treatment and theatre services are completed by a theatre recovery area.  We have a sterile services area where equipment used in surgery is cleaned and maintained on site.

We have 32 bedrooms, all en suite and all with fantastic views of the gardens.  Many have access to the roof garden or veranda where patients or their guests can get some fresh air.  Two of the bedrooms have extra beds where family members or carers can stay to provide support and comfort.

Patients also have access to our gardens, including our roof garden, as part of the therapeutic environment, we provide at Fairfield.

Fairfield Independent Hospital is a member of the trade association for independent hospitals, The Independent Healthcare Providers Network (IHPN). IHPN represents over 200 hospitals that provide services to insured, self-paying and NHS-funded patients. IHPN works with the Care Quality Commission to influence, impact and represent the high standard of quality care members provide patients within an independent healthcare setting.

Fairfield Independent Hospital participates in the Private Health Information Network (PHIN).  PHIN is the official information organisation for private health.  All providers of private healthcare in the UK, including most NHS hospitals, are required by law to submit data to PHIN.  PHIN is totally independent and not-for-profit: it does not have shareholders, it does not carry advertising and it does not generate money from referrals. If you want to find out more about private health providers you can use the PHIN website to compare local providers.
