Face Lift Surgery Face-lift (rhytidectomy) is a cosmetic procedure to address the signs of aging in the lower half of the face.
We have a team of Consultant Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons who offer tailored cosmetic procedures to suit individual needs including face-lift, and brow-lifts. You can find out more by calling our helpful team on 01744 746 433
If you are considering a face-lift you can book a consultation with one of our Consultant Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons to gain a full understanding of a face-lift and a chance to raise any concerns you may have with the procedure.
What does a face-lift procedure involve?
A face-lift involves elevating and repositioning the skin and soft tissue of the face.
During the procedure, cuts are made in front of the ear, extending up and forward along the hairline. Redundant skin is then removed, and the remaining skin is re-positioned. A brow-lift is similar cosmetic procedure, which addresses the signs of aging in the upper half of the face.
The most suitable type of surgery and the likely outcome will be discussed at your appointments with your surgeon.
If you would like to find out more, you can book a consultation with one of our Consultant Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons to discuss possible surgery.
Before considering surgery it is important to be aware that all surgical procedures carry a certain amount of risk and it is important that you understand the risks involved with face-lift.

What’s included
The initial consultation guide price covers the cost of your initial appointment with your consultant. The consultation fee is due in full on the day of the appointment.
The Main Treatment guide price covers your stay in hospital as long as it is clinically necessary. This guide price includes all pre-operative tests that the Hospital requires to ensure you are fit for surgery, the fees for your consultant and anaesthetist to perform the procedure, and any nursing care, medication and food after. However, if your consultant advises that you need a different prosthesis, or you request a non standard item, then the guide price for your treatment will alter. This will be made clear to you before you go ahead with your treatment and will become the ‘fixed price’. The payment for the main treatment is due in full, ten days prior to your admission date.
Post discharge care following your discharge from Hospital is included in your fixed price care package. This price includes a single post-op consultant consultation and physiotherapy visits (up to the number stated), removal of any stitches, change of dressings and any medication you need to take home with you. The main treatment price also includes the cost of treating any complications at the Hospital for 365 days following the date of your procedure where those complications arise directly out of the treatment you receive as part of your treatment package and are identified within 365 days of your discharge from Hospital, provided that you have followed the advice of your Consultants and any other medical professionals involved in your care following the procedure. This includes any consultations, outpatient, day-care and inpatient treatment that the Consultant says you need and which the Hospital agrees to provide.

How long does it take to recover from a Face-lift?
Face-lift recovery times and the speed with which you can return to everyday activities can vary depending on the individual and the type of surgery carried out.
With a face-lift you should be able to go home after 2-3 days, and whether you stay over night an extra night there is no impact on the price you pay for your treatment.
Be sure to discuss your return to work following a face-lift with your Consultant Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon.
It is important that you follow the advice the hospital and your consultant provide you.
As part of our aftercare you will be provided with a direct telephone number to our nurses department should you experience any difficulties or concerns when you are discharged.
